Mavernon Ames Mansfield

Ruffin – Mavernon Ames Mansfield 76, of Ruffin, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Assembly of God. Mavernon was born in Rockingham County to the late Joseph Oscar Mansfield and Minnie Pearl Perkins Mansfield. He was a machine mechanic for 40 years in the textile industry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie “Bootsie” Massey Manfield. He is survived by his son, Vernon Mansfield and wife, Natalie; daughters, Robin Jones and husband, Randy, Susan Bowers and husband, David, Donna English and husband, Wesley; grandchildren, Matt Jones and wife, Samantha, Justin Reynolds and wife, Savannah, Mindy Roberts and husband, Chris, Dillon, Brandi and Hannah Mansfield; great grandchildren, Shawn Jones, Matt Jones, Jr. and Britany Jones; brother, Willis Maryland Mansfield; sister, Jeanette Ledford and Bobbie Jean Minor; half sister, Hallie Perkins. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
