Medlene Hedrick Somers

Reidsville, NC – Medlene Hedrick Somers, 80, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Mrs. Somers was born in Catawba County to the late, Esley Tate and Barbara Canipe Hedrick. Medlene was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by grandson, Frankie Chilton III and great-grandson, Aarron Smithey. Medlene is survived by her sons, Marvin Lee Shook and wife, Carol of Claremont, NC and Johnny Fred Shook and wife, Donna of Newton, NC; daughter, Pauline Poindexter Perdue and husband, Curtis of Reidsville; grandchildren, Kathy Clark, Vicky Chilton, Ricky Chilton, Tara Handy, Carolyn Setzer, Ruby Done, Sherrie Shook; and 2 great-grandchildren. There will not be a formal visitation but the family will receive friends at the home of daughter, Pauline Perdue, 2101 S. Scales St. Apt 25A, Reidsville. Wilkerson funeral home will be assisting the family.
