Michael Clare Bailey,64, unexpectedly left this world on Tuesday, January 21,2020.
He was born in Danville, Virginia on March 12, 1955 to the late Rev. Claude Neal Bailey and Louise Massey Bailey.
Michael was a devoted father, a loving husband and brother, and a very cool Papa. He was an extremely proud veteran who served his country during the Vietnam era.
He married Debra Lynn Spence on September 8, 1973 and was a loving husband for 46 years. He spent most of his life in the Pelham, North Carolina area enjoying his friends and family. During that time, he also worked as a welder. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and will be sorely missed by all. Each person he knew will have long lasting memories of “Mikey”, Daddy, Bubba or Papa including his love of good music, good food and fun. Daddy, you held our hands for only a little while, but we will hold you in our hearts forever! Rest in peace Mikey!
Survivors include his wife and lifelong sweetheart , Debbie; his daughters, Lisa Bailey (fiancée, Mike Kennon) and Shannon Lowe (husband, Kelly) of Pelham; his grandchildren, Christopher Michael Bailey, Lana Paige Bailey, Chase Dalton Lowe, Bryson Kennon and Addison Storm Kennon; his brother, Mark Allen Bailey (Vicki) of Virginia Beach; his stepmother, Judy Bailey of Danville; his step sisters, Beth Sullivan and Suzanne Nettles.
The family will have a celebration of life gathering for family and friends at the home on Saturday, January 25 from 1pm to 6pm. Any and all are welcome to come to 151 Bradley Road, Pelham, NC.
In lieu of flowers arrangements, the family would appreciate live plants that we could continue to grow and love just as we would have done with him.
