Denver, NC - Michael "Mike" Wesley Barrett, 58, of 7954 King Arthurs Court, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2011 at his home.A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Forrest Lawn West, Funeral and Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte NC with Rev. Betsy Williamson officiating. A second funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel, 1909 Richardson Drive, Reidsville, NC with Rev. Charles Toller officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church cemetery.Mr. Barrett was born April 7, 1953 to Louise Tarleton Barrett and the late John Robert Barrett. He was passionate about his job at Duke Energy where he worked for 33years. Mike was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that loved his family and friends very deeply. He was a dependable man that was true to his word that loved his country and Jesus. Along with his father he was preceded in death by his daughters, Lauren Clifton and Vanessa Brunk.Mike is survived by his loving wife, Betty Ward Barrett of the home; two children; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Louise Tarleton Barrett; brothers, John Barrett and wife Katherine and Gary Barrett and wife, Pamela; and his beloved dog, Angel.There will not be a formal visitation but the family will receive friends other times at his home and his daughter, Bonnie's home, 1511 Pearman Street, Reidsville, NC.
