Michael Wesley Bolejack

Michael “Mike” Wesley Bolejack was born April 17, 1958, to the late Margaret Moore Strader and Alver W. Bolejack. One of 3 children, the only son and his momma’s favorite. Mike was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a confidant and a friend.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Clayton officiating and the burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

It’s hard to summarize Mike with one word but the one word that seems to fit best is : Musician. At the age of 5 Mike began playing drums. Mike was blessed with musical talent to play music on about anything he picked up, especially percussion instruments. Mike was a talented composer and sometimes would surprise you with beautiful piano compositions and ventured into writing and published his first book, ‘I Once Wished Life Upside Down’ in 2022. He began listening to jazz at a very early age. Mike grew up in Reidsville, N.C. and started playing local clubs at age 12 where he got into rock & roll and R&B. At 19 he performed with country great Ronnie Milsap. Mike along with Randy Poindexter and Tom Scott formed a band USA ROCK where they recorded their own album. Throughout his career he performed with such greats as Chuck Berry, The Outlaws, Earl Thomas Conley, Channel 9, Street Feet, and Buzzy Meekins formally of Molly Hatchett. In recent years he’d been working with Russian Pianist Yelena Eckemoff. He did many studio sessions over the years with Saltmine Productions for television, Radio and films.

Mike retired from American Tobacco Company with almost 20 years of service. He was more than a man of 12 musical notes; he was also a man of 12 steps. Michael was a member of AA and NA, and by the grace of God and those programs he spent over 25 years helping countless alcoholics and addicts along the way. As much as this hurts all that loved and cared about Mike Bolejack, I can hear him explaining that acceptance is the answer and to give it up to God. Mike is in God’s hands now; Mike is with God . Mike has had all his questions answered and Mike will no longer feel pain. I’m asking you on behalf of Mike Bolejack not to let your heart be troubled. Mike shall be with you in the Fellowship of the spirit. Mike is thriving in our hearts; he will continue to live in our fond memories. Mike always had time for his friends and loved ones. Along with his parents, Mike was preceded in death by sister Lucille Bolejack Gillispie; niece Cheryl Gillispie; nephew Todd Gillispie.

Mike is survived by his children Lindsey Ann Bolejack and Nicholas Wesley Bolejack and Sally; grandchildren Huston Wesley Bolejack and River Ann Bolejack; sister Janet Bolejack Williams and Jim; mother of his children Della; special friends Glenn Washburn, John Hooper and Tim Hinkle; extended family and many special friends.

May God bless you and keep you--until
