Michael Thomas Childrey

Greensboro - Michael Thomas Childrey, 54, passed away, Friday, September 23, 2011 at his home surrounded by family and friends.Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, September 26, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harry Buckner officiating.Mike was born in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Carl and Helen Eggleston Childrey. He earned his Master's degree from Appalachian State University. He was the owner, operator of a transportation service. He was a member of Community Baptist Church. He was an avid Tarheel and Dallas Cowboy fan. Mike loved the Outer Banks and was an excellent cook. He is survived by his brother, Tony Childrey and wife, Colleen of Reidsville; nephews, Seth, Jarred and Isaac and niece, Tabitha. The family would like to express their thanks to family and friends and especially his caregivers, Greg Thompson and Trish Davis.The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:30 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home prior to the service and other times at Tony and Colleen's home (727 Mt.
