MIchael George Marr

Michael George Marr of 1034 Westerly Park Road in Eden, NC passed away Friday, May 13 at the age of 51. He is preceded in death by his father George Marr, his mother Ethel Kelly, brother Kelly Marr, Aunt Peg Margensey and his pet ‘Big Dog’. Michael was raised in Moravia NY, where he graduated from Moravia Central School. He retired as a Union Boilermaker for Local 30, where he traveled from Texas to Massachusetts and there in between. Those who knew Michael knew him as Mike, Daddy and Big Mike. He was a grand presence with always a witty remark and the best sense of humor. He was a jokester who looked out for everyone and always made sure everyone was fed and taken care of. He was a very genuine and giving man. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his beloved baby girl and best friend, Makayla KC Marr, her mother Bonnie Scott, and ‘little man’ Nathanial Knight all of Madison NC, and sons Michael Marr, Nick Marr and daughter Angela Marr of New York, his dog Einstein, his uncle Don Margensey of Eden NC, his neighbor Frank Booth of Eden NC, and many special family, friends and union brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Reidsville NC on Sunday May 15, at 3:00 PM. We would like to invite you to join us after the service to celebrate his life by raising a glass of your favorite drink in his memory or just come and celebrate his life with friends and family at his place of residence.
