Michael Scott Mericka

Michael Scott “Scotty” Mericka, 25, of Browns Summit went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 8, 2021. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Scotty was born in Guilford county to Michael A Mericka and the late Cynthia Loye Dezearn. Scotty was an avid hunter and enjoyed pursuing duck, deer, turkey, and dove alongside his family and friends. With an unmistakable laugh and infectious smile, he could light up a room. Scotty was a tremendously family-oriented young man, and fiercely loyal to his friends. He was passionate about the farm he grew up on, Triple M Ranch, and worked to uphold the hardworking standards passed down to him from his Papa and father. Scotty enjoyed working alongside his dad, uncles and cousins building fences and barns around the community. Although called home early, Scotty’s presence will be felt forever, and the memories made with him will be cherished. Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Mericka “Papa”; maternal grandparents, Banks and Carolyn Loye. He is survived by his father, Michael Mericka; half-brother, Justin Dezearn; grandmother, Mary Mericka (Mimi); Uncle Jeff and Aunt Janice Mericka; Uncle Tim and Aunt Sandi Mericka; cousins, Blair, Tyler, Bryce, Evan and Wyatt Mericka as well as a large and loving extended family.
