Michael Preston Smith

Reidsville: Michael Preston Smith, 32, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Mr. Marvin Bowman and Rev. Bill McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Michael was born on June 13, 1984, in Rockingham County, to William Ernest Smith, Jr. and Robin Moore Miller. He had a very good heart, he loved helping people. He loved sports, especially the Lakers and the University of North Carolina. He would religiously watch the Shepherd’s Chapel and also read his Bible. He loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William E. Smith, Sr. and James “Bill” Moore. Survivors include his lifelong companion, Felicia Watson; his son, William Wayne Honaker; his father, Ernie Smith and wife Karen; his mother, Robin Miller and husband Keith; his brother, Matt Smith; his step-sisters, Trista Daniell, April Rakestraw and Renee Brewer, and his grandmothers, Martha Bowman and husband Marvin and Virginia Moore. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Ernie’s house, 2367 Ashley Loop Rd., or at Robin’s house, 141 Eagle Falls Rd. in Madison.
