Michael Ray Strader

Michael R Strader, 65, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will take place at Christian Fellowship Church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 with Rev. Bill McKinney officiating. The burial will follow the service at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM Monday, April 15, 2019. Michael was born in Rockingham County to Raeford Roosevelt Strader and Betty Virginia Kennon Strader. He retired from Plastics Revolutions with over 20 years of service. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Like most fisherman he was a great story teller. He was also a race fan; he drove and worked on cars at 311 for many years. Most of all he loved his wife and family. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Raeford Wayne Strader. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Kathy Simpson Strader; sons, Michael Christopher Strader and Thomas Spencer Strader (Kristan); mother, Betty Kennon Strader; siblings, Gary Strader, Ricky Strader (Kathi), Robin Strader; grandchildren, Brett and Jacob Strader; great grandchild, Greyson Strader as well as a large extended family.
