Thomas Michael “Meathead” Collins, 63, of Rockingham County, passed away on October 8, 2019 at his home.
Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Sharon Lee officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, October 11, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and other times at 811 Witty Road.
Mike was born in Rockingham County to the late Herbert Mitchell Collins and Mary Henry Isley Collins. In his earlier days, he could be found playing softball often playing in three or four leagues at one time. He loved riding horses, especially with his trail tribe. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he loved his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his wife of 21 years Joy Collins; daughter, Jennifer Collins; son, Brandon Arnold (Rachel Barrett); siblings, Nancy Collins Moore (Doug) and Herbert Lewis Collins (Wendy); niece, Rachel LaRocco (Matt); nephews, Andy Moore and Adam Moore (Mandy); great nephews and nieces, Joseph, Waylon, Anna and Tatum as well as a large extended family of horse riders.
