Reidsville – Mildred Louise Hopper Edwards, 89, of 120 Parkland Road, died on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Hospice Home Center of Rockingham County.
Funeral services will be held at Baptist Temple Church on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 11:00 AM with Rev. George Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Scott Barham, Matthew Barham, Kenneth Bradsher, Joey Paschal, Reid Newman and Chris Hicks.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Rockingham County to the late Russell Hamilton and Iona Gillie Hopper. She was retired from The American Tobacco Company after 44 years of service and a member of Baptist Temple Church where she taught Sunday School. After her retirement, she volunteered at Annie Penn Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by death of her husband, Kermit Glenn Edwards; sisters, Virginia Hopper Cain, Dorothy Hopper McDaniel; brothers, Russell Hampton Hopper and Charles Richard Hopper.
She is survived by her sisters, Irene Hopper and Betty Hopper Barham of Reidsville; special nephew Ronald Barham and wife, Gail of Reidsville.
The family will receive friends at Baptist Temple Church one hour prior to the funeral service and other times at the residence.
