Mildred Strader Jensen

-- View a Video -- Millie Jensen Mildred Strader Jensen “Millie”, 83,formerly of Reidsville and most currently of Paradise Valley, AZ, flew into heaven on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 (her mother’s birthday) at Banner Desert Medical Center, Mesa, AZ with family by her side. Millie was born August 11, 1930 in Summerfield, NC to the late Harry and Thelma Strader. Her first job, Jefferson Standard Insurance, began in Greensboro, NC then off to Miami Beach, FL. Next stop was Portland, OR where she met her husband of 51 years, Glen Jensen, an NCO in the USAF. Their married life in the military took them to Tacoma, WA (child one and child two are born); Japan (graced by their only daughter); Phoenix, AZ (the last but not least child was born); Myrtle Beach, SC; and began their civilian life in Reidsville, NC. It was here that she got her next job as a radiology stenographer at Annie Penn Hospital and finished her working career at Belk’s as a sales associate. Her hobbies included reading, golf, bowling, crocheting, sharing gossip and dirty jokes and spending time with friends and family. Along with her parents and husband, those preceding her include brother Paul, and sisters Mary Lee, Katherine and Alice Faye. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Eddie Jensen and girlfriend Debbie Kellam, Bryan (Nancy), Jeff (Tena), and only daughter, Glenda Schillinger. Grandchildren are Allison, Albert (AJ), Nicklaus, and Michael. Her sister Ann Hemric (Bobby). Also included are many extended relatives and lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, January 5 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service and again after the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
