Reidsville: Mildred Allen King, 82 of 633 Barker Road, went home to rejoin her husband in heaven on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday November 8, 2013 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Raines officiating. The family will see friends at the church two hours prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Moore, Phillip Moore, Leon Pegram, Darryl Collins, Willie Light and Richard Allen. Mrs. King was born in Rockingham County to the late Richard and Una Ellis Allen. She was a retiree of Blue Bell and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She loved crocheting, camping and gardening. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry King; brothers, Ronald Allen (infant) and Robert Allen. Survivors include her daughter, Janice Pegram and husband, Steve; son, Ronnie King; granddaughter, Tonya King; great grandchildren, Jordan, Nathan and Tyler Perdue and Aiden Frost; step grandchildren, Charles Pegram and Leon Pegram and wife, Jennifer; step great grandchildren, Steven, Susanna and Skylar Pegram; brothers, Claude Allen and wife, Peggy, James Allen and wife, Nancy and Thomas Allen and wife, Rosa; sisters, Sallie Shelton, Hilda Shore, Ruth Moore and husband, Ben, Rachel Dowdy and husband, Frank and Sarah Smith and husband, Johnny. At other times the family may be seen at the home of her sister, Ruth Moore, 613 Barker Road, Reidsville. Special thanks to Dr. Melissa Taylor and the Palliative Care Staff of Wesley Long Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
