Mildred Moore Martin

Reidsville: Mildred Moore Martin, 86, of the Carolina House in Reidsville, died Wednesday, July 28 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 1st at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late William Herbert and Alma Fuqua Moore. She was a longtime member of Community Baptist Church. For a number of years, she ran her own business making and delivering sandwiches to local businesses and golf courses. Later, she sold Stanley Home products. Mrs. Martin loved people and always had many friends. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Russell Martin; her daughter, Jean Martin Griffin; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her children, Russell Kenneth Martin and Gail Rakestraw of Reidsville, Carolyn Martin Chappell and husband, Swanson of Greensboro and Charles “Frank” Martin of Reidsville; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 7-9 pm, Saturday, July 31 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times will be at 1076 US 29 Business, Reidsville.
