Mildred Sue Gwynn, 76, of 312 Parkdale Road, went home to be with the Lord, her daughter and her grandson on June 15, 2019 at Alamance Regional. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Pleasant View Assembly of God with Pastor Gary Loftis officiating. The burial will follow at Kerr’s Chapel Cemetery. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening June 18, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and other times at the home.
Mrs. Gwynn “Mamaw” was born in Rockingham County to the late Bruce and Ruth Kernodle. She was formerly employed by Alamance Health Care where she served as a caregiver. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and always had her bags packed “ready to travel”. She understood the gift of life by being a VIP blood donor. Along with parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Hogan; her grandson, Collin Gwynn; and several siblings.
Mrs. Gwynn is survived by her husband, Johnny Gwynn of the home; her children, Terry and Joyce Gwynn, Sandra King and Ernie Farley and John Gwynn; grandchildren, Justin and Heather Gwynn, Philip Gwynn, Hannah Gwynn, Will and Sarah King, Melissa and Josh Lee, Jonathan Gwynn, Jenna Gwynn, Crystal Hogan and her father, Richard, Bryant and Regina Hogan and six great grandchildren and a large extended family.
