Milton Edward Perdue, 98, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 24 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 22 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Michelle Toler’s home (396 Vaughn Road).
Milton was born in Rockingham County to the late Wilson and Alice Perdue. He was a longtime and faithful member of Thompsonville Baptist Church. He worked many years alongside his son at Perdue Plumbing. Milton was an avid sportsman and always bragged about his favorite hunting dog, Rattler. Over the years, he enjoyed gardening and beekeeping. He loved his family of 5 generations. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Alma Loftis Perdue; son, Jerry Milton Perdue; daughter, Carolyn Perdue Gibson; grandson, Stephen Gibson; great granddaughter, Jessica Gibson; brother, Raymond Perdue; and sister, Veatrice Williams.
Milton is survived by his daughters, Lib Hall, Rachel Perdue and Brenda Church; son, Mark Perdue and wife, Dawn; granddaughters and caregivers, Michelle Toler, Amanda Hall and 13 other grandchildren; great granddaughter and caregiver, Misty Toler and 20 other great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Williams; and a large extended family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the consistent support through the years from the Thompsonville Baptist, the love and care provided by the Jacob’s Creek staff and Hospice of Rockingham County.
