Minnie Lee Gooch

Ruffin: Minnie Lee Gooch, 82, of 9635 US 29, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Ruffin United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Wyant officiating. Interment will follow in Ruffin Cemetery. Mrs. Gooch was born in Rockingham County to the late Allen Richard and Susie Cook Lee. She was of the Methodist faith and a life long member of Ruffin United Methodist Church. Minnie was very active in her church where she taught Sunday School, the Cub Scouts, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a very loving mother and grandmother that gave to her family and friends with a loving heart. Minnie enjoyed her quilting and sewing but most of all loved working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Jett Gooch. Minnie is survived by her son, Mike Gooch and wife, Jill of Greenville, N.C.; daughter, Kaye Gooch of Raleigh; grandchildren, Ginger and Sabrina Gooch; brother, Fred Lee of Reidsville The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 18th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ruffin United Methodist Church, P.O Box 66 Ruffin, N.C. 27326 or Hospice Home of Rockingham County, P.O Box 281, Wentworth, N.C. 27375. Wilkerson Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
