Reidsville: Minnie Canady Martin passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Lloyd officiating. A visitation will begin one-hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM in the church assembly room.
Mrs. Martin was born in Rockingham County to the late James Alvis and Mary Amanda Williams Canady. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Floyd Martin of 56 years. Minnie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and had a very quiet and humble manner. She was employed 40 years by VF Corporation. She was an avid collector of dolls. Her grandchildren occupied much of her time and attention.
Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her brother Vernon Canady.
Survivors include her sons, Daryl Martin and wife Cheryl and Andy Martin and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Josh Martin, Drew Martin and wife Mary-Margaret, Megan Martin, Tyler Martin, Corey Bissette, Lindsey Alcorn, and Ethan Alcorn; sister, Mildred Pryor; and brothers, Ross Canady and Ronnie Canady and wife, Susan.
A special thanks is extended to her brother-in-law, Bobby Martin and wife, Frances and a special appreciation to Mrs. Nancy Turner and the entire staff at Nancy Turner Home for the excellent loving care given to Mom.
