Brown Summit: Mozelle Gordon Brooks, 94, of 5997 Poley Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Ashton Place Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 20, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Brooks and Rev. Randall Shaw officiating. The burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mozelle was born on April 11, 1921, in Guilford County to the late Hugh Jefferson and Annie Apple Gordon. She was a very loving wife who supported her husband who worked as a farmer. She was a faithful member of Osceola Baptist Church. Mozelle was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The grandkids and great grandkids were her pride and joy.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Philip Elmore Brooks, her son-in-law, Ken Brown, a great granddaughter, Mattie Brown and her siblings, Worth, Elmo, Herbert, Odis and Clay Gordon and Vivian “Billie” Norman.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Brooks Brown of Brown Summit, Carolyn Brooks Isley and husband Mike of Brown Summit and Diane Brooks Goodman and husband Benny of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Chad Brown and wife Brittany, Angie Isley Brown and husband Doug, Kevin Brown and wife Kim and Crystal Goodman; her ten great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Nell and Nancy Gordon and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
