Reidsville - Nadine Isley Bates, 83, of 2054 Flat Rock Road, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Wesley Long Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2012 at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Lloyd and Rev. Jerry Walker officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.Mrs. Bates was born in Forsyth County to the late Edward and Mary Moseley Isley. She retired from Sears Roebuck and Company with close to 30 years of service. She was a longtime and faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church where she enjoyed her time with the Sunshine Group. She was a lifetime learner and loved going to Rockingham Community College computer classes. Mrs. Bates volunteered many hours serving Monroeton Volunteer Fire Department and preparing taxes for seniors. She was a longtime member of the ABWA. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Ray Bates; her brothers, Edward Isley, Jr. and Carl Isley.She is survived by her sons, Paul Kevin Bates of Stoneville, Michael Ray Bates of the home and Barry Keith Bates of Reidsville; grandchildren, Cory Bates, Casey Bates Stone and husband, Phillip, Wayne and Chris Bates, Charity Jones and Holly Bates; great grandchildren, Savannah Stone, Ricky, Cody, Daniel and Austin Bates, Morgan Jones, Abrienna and Harper Bates, Chloe Bates, Nicole Taylor, Jessica and Chairty Green; brothers, Ray Isley and wife, Nancy of Stokesdale, Jerry Isley and wife, Mary and Danny Isley and wife, Arlene all of Reidsville; sisters, Virginia Aheron and husband, Robert of Stokesdale, Shirley Pegram and husband, Marvin of Charlotte, Brenda Strader and husband, Jerry of Reidsville, Rachel Wallace and husband, Kenneth of Dry Fork, VA and Carolyn Cayton and husband, Ken of Stokesdale; sister-in-law, Betty Isley of Summerfield; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Linda Wilson and her many friends at Rockingham Community College.The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12th from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home place (1695 Flat Rock Road).
