Nancy Vernon Loftis

Reidsville – Nancy Vernon Loftis, 76, of 3724 Iron Works Road, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2009 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Brown and Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Loftis was born in Rockingham County to the late Otis and Elmer Brown Vernon. She was retired from the American Tobacco Company and was a longtime and faithful member of Sharon Baptist Church. She was a member of the WMU and served in the nursery for many years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindsey Loftis; brothers, O. V. Vernon and Carl “Cotton” Vernon and sister, Grace Jeffries. Mrs. Loftis is survived by her sons, Charles O. Loftis of Surf City and wife, Bettye, Dennis Loftis and wife, Sharon and Randy Loftis and wife, Patty all of Reidsville; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchild; sisters, Ruby Vernon Moore and Martha Vernon McCollum and husband, Robert all or Reidsville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at Sharon Baptist Church on Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 6-8 PM and other times at the home.
