Nancy Yvonne Phillips Hanks

Reidsville – Nancy Yvonne Phillips Hanks, 76 - God called another one of His children Home today. Nancy Yvonne Phillips Hanks left this earthly world for her Heavenly Home on August 13, 2014. Nancy was the second child of the late James Carl Phillips and Kitty Mae Fargis Phillips. She attented Reidsville public schools. She started working at an early age at the Reidsville Laundry Company. Later, she worked at Burlington Industries and then Macfield (Unifi). She was formerly married to Roy Clinton Hanks on August 18, 1956. To that union four children were born. She was preceded in death along with her parents, by her brother, Robert Franklin Phillips, sisters-in-law Lucille Robertson Phillips, Catherine Phelps Phillips, nephew Randy Franklin Phillips and niece Christy Michelle Phillips. Nancy leaves her four children to cherish her memories Elizabeth Hanks, Roy F. and Theresa C. Hanks, Penny R. Hanks and Willam K and Melissa T. Hanks. Eight grandchildren, Rena Winchester, Tony Winchester, Jessica Hanks, Dusty Hanks, Jamie Hanks, Tanya Manley, Samantha Hanks and Crystal Thacker. Eight great grandchildren, Patrick Winchester, Drake Winchester, Trevor Davis, Alex Hanks, Lelan Manley, CJ Manley, Dakota Hanks and Tiara Thacker. Nancy had many family members and friends that will also mourn her passing. The family would like to thank Dr Hawkins and the staff at Annie Penn Hospital for the care they gave to their mother and the kindness they showed the family. We would like to especially thank Bob Lee, RN and all the nurses and staff in the ICU for the kindness they showed during this difficult time. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 15, 2014, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The internment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 14, from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home, and at other times at Penny's home, 8975 US 158 West or Elizabeth's home, 209 Edna St. Reidsville.
