Naomi Allen Davis, 97, of Reidsville, was ushered into the presence of Jesus on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with Rev. George Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of her daughter, Debbie, and Bob Haskins.
Naomi was born in Person County to the late Rueben Malcolm and Olena Allen. She was truly one of the best cooks God ever put on earth, famous for her fruit cobblers and coconut cake, which she joyfully shared with others. A wonderful gardener, seamstress, CNA, and bookkeeper, she lived a full life. She also loved crossword puzzles and fondly bragged about how she skipped a grade in school. A devoted member of Baptist Temple Church, she taught Sunday School, touching many lives along the way. While she always put God first, her family came a close second, and her love for them was evident in everything she did.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Jennings; her son, Al Davis; and 17 brothers and sisters.
Naomi is survived by her daughters Debbie Haskins and husband Bob, Ann Campbell, and Sherry Isley; her grandchildren, Jason Campbell and wife Kim, Scott Campbell, and Christy Harrelson and husband Michael; her great-grandchildren, Michael Plummer and wife Mandee, Mason Campbell and wife Tate, Barid Campbell and wife Selina, Chelsie Miller and husband Brandon, Liam Harrelson, Eva Harrelson, and Lydia Harrelson; and her great-great-grandchildren Blake, Kassidy, Jace, Presley, Gracyn, Eli, and Luna.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Penn Center for caring for their mother for over eight years. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, a voluntary health organization specializing in Alzheimer's care, support, and research, at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
