Nellie Barker Stone

Reidsville: Nellie Barker Stone, 75, of 450 Sandy Cross Road, went home to be with The Lord July 11, 2016 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Lloyd and Rev. Greg Robertson officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. “Mrs. Nellie” was a native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late Willie and Novella Barker. She was formerly employed by Sears & Roebuck with over 30 years of service. She was a longtime, active and faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was known for her generosity and servant spirit, always putting others first. Mrs. Nellie loved growing flowers, making crafts, going to yard sales and volunteering at nursing homes. She loved her church and she adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Mrs. Nellie is survived by her husband, Ralph W. Stone of the home; her children, Deborah Crumpton and husband, Sammy, Randy Stone and wife, Mary all of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Emily Jones and husband, Jonathan, Payne Crumpton and Matthew Stone; great granddaughter, Georgia Novella Jones; brothers, Billy Barker, James Barker and wife, Donna; sisters, Barbara Jones and husband, Ronnie, Katherine Howerton and husband, David; sister-in-law, Betty Overby and husband, Jim all of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Randy and Mary’s home (1842 Flat Rock Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320).
