Nellie Massey Mansfield

Ruffin: Nellie "Bootsie" Massey Mansfield, 66, of 10409 US Hwy 158 West, went home to be with the Lord after her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Sartin officiating. The burial will follow in the Pleasant View Assembly of God Church Cemetery. Mrs. Mansfield was born in Pittsylvania County to the late, John and Mildred Lucas Massey. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. A faithful caregiver, she always put others first including her parents, husband and family. She was a wonderful cook and always made her house a home. Mrs. Mansfield is survived by her husband, Mavernon Mansfield of the home; her children, Robin Jones and husband, Randy of Burlington, Susan Bowers and husband, David of Pelham, Donna English and husband, Wesley and Vernon Mansfield and wife, Natalie all of Elon; grandchildren, Matt Jones and wife, Samantha, Justin Reynolds and Savannah, Mindy Roberts and husband, Chris, Dillon Mansfield and Brandi and Hannah Mansfield; great grandchildren, Shawn Jones, Matt Jones, Jr. and Britany Jones. The family also would like to recognize her special neighbor, Virginia Walker and her lifetime friends, Betty Brooks and Doris Stewart. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 14 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at her home. The family would like to express their gratitude to Jennifer Cox for her loving care of Mrs. Mansfield.
