Nettie Knowles Wilson Brown

Reidsville- Nettie Knowles Wilson Brown, 78, of 609 Grooms Road, died on Monday, November 29, 2010, at Penn Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ron Tuck and Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Rockingham County to the late Richard A. and Maggie Thacker Knowles. She was a member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Nettie was retired from GTE and Chase Bag Company. She was in the Sunshine Ladies Group and she served as the president of the group for a time. Nettie also was an avid reader and loved planting flowers in the fall of the year. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death of her first husband, Ellison Wilson; brother, James Knowles, 4 infant brothers and sisters, and nephew , Eddie Knowles. She is survived by her husband, John Otha Brown of the home; son, Dwight Ellison Wilson of Reidsville, daughter-in-law, Holly Wilson; grandson, Joshua Wilson; step grandchildren, Stephen Brown and Tabatha Garrett; brother, George E, Knowles and wife, Peggy of Summerfield; sister, Connie Moore and husband, Donald of Rural Hall and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church from 7 to 9 PM and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund, P. O. Box 1584, Lawsonville Baptist Church, Reidsville, NC 27320.
