Norma Carroll Billingsley

Reidsville – Norma Carroll Billingsley, 82, of 1240 Highway 29 Business, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 21, 2010 surrounded by her family at the Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Reidsville Alliance Church with Rev. Norm Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mrs. Billingsley was born in Rockingham County to the late Frank and Mabel Carroll. She was a member of the Home Extension Club and a faithful member of Reidsville Alliance Church, member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and served as hospitality chairman at the church for many years. She worked at Sears Mail Order from 1961- 1988 in various positions and enjoyed traveling with her sister-in-law, Mildred throughout the country. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Billingsley; brother, J. Frank Carroll; brother-in-law, Charlie Billingsley and wife, Doris; nephew, Barry Billingsley. She is survived by her daughters, Faith Billingsley, of the home, and Brenda Williams and husband, Louis; son, Bill Billingsley, all of Reidsville; grandson, Matt Williams and wife, Michelle; great grandchildren, who were the joy of her life, Rebekah and Daniel Williams; sister, Oberia Vawter and husband, Ray of New Bern; brother, Philip Carroll and partner, Gary Thrailkill of Concord; sisters-in-law, Mildred Billingsley, Dot Pulliam and husband, Johnny; brother-in-law, J.T. Billingsley and wife, Louise; her in-laws were more than relatives, they were friends. Nieces, Suzanne Stockdreher and husband, Udo, Joyce Priddy and husband, Donnie, Diantha Severence and husband, David, Judith Kelly, Cindy Sutherland, and husband, Terry, Pam Price and husband, Joe; nephews, Wayne Billingsley and wife, Betty, Kenneth Billingsley and wife, Debra, Roger Billingsley and wife, Phyllis, Paul Pulliam and wife, Christy. Her special friends for many years, Dot Rakestraw, Opal Keen and Frances Lester. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, August 23rd from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
