Norman Quincey Adams

Reidsville: Norman Quincey Adams, 84, of 507 Eugene Street, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 27, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 2, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with Rev. Mickey Alcorn and Rev. Arthur Stevens, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Norman was born on November 13, 1930, in Durham County to the late Charney and Alpha Lewis Adams. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He served as choir director for several years. He also served as Adult Sunday School teacher for several years. He loved serving his Lord in many ways. He served in the U.S. Navy as a young man as a Seaman First Class. He graduated from Bethesda High School and Bob Jones University. He has been in declining health for several years. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Adams, C.T. Adams and Danny Adams; one son, Ronnie “Bucky” Chambers, and the mother of his children, Gladys Adams. Survivors include his loving wife, Polly Adams of the home; daughters, Debra Adams Williams of Fuquay Varina, NC, Rhonda Sheckells and husband Tim of Stoneville, NC, Sandra Chambers, Paula Dickerson and husband Ty and Robin Apple and fiancé Darrell all of Reidsville, NC; sons, Tony Adams and wife Sherry of Birmingham, AL, Bobby Chambers and wife Sherry and Scott Chambers and wife Gwen both of Reidsville, NC; brothers, John Adams and wife Judy of Burke, VA and James Adams and wife Linda of Asheville, NC; special sister-in-law, Janet Adams; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three faithful furry pals, Sis, Little Bit and Gracie; many nieces and nephews and special aunt, Lois Lewis. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 7-9 P.M. and other times at the home. A special thanks to the Rockingham County Hospice facility, and a very special caregiver, Rachel. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his family and his country.
