Norman Wayne Mayfield

Reidsville- Mr. Norman Wayne Mayfield, 67, of Reidsville passed away at his home on Monday, December 16th, 2013. Mr. Mayfield was born in Floyd County, Indiana to the late Arley Mayfield and Laverne Cooper Mayfield. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a recipient of three Purple Hearts and other distinguished medals. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Elaine Mayfield, David Mayfield, Brian Mayfield and Dennis Mayfield. He is survived by his wife, Brenda K. Mayfield of the home; one daughter, Robin White and husband, Jeffrey of Asheboro; two grandchildren, Melissa White and Kimberly White; brothers, Mike Mayfield and wife Coty; Kenny Mayfield and wife Clara and Larry Mayfield and wife Cathy; sisters: Barbara Owens, Donna Thomerson, Brenda Ruckman and Teri Mayfield. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 20th, 2013 at eleven o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lowe’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
