Reidsville: Norman James “Tim” Walker, 84, of 507 McCoy Road died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. George Fox and Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro, NC. Mr. Walker was born in Stokesdale, NC to the late Robert Gorrel and Della Isley Walker. He was a veteran in the US Army with the infantry serving during WWII. He was a retired from the American Tobacco Company. He was a member of Baptist Temple Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gorrel Walker and Alfred Walker; sisters, Carleen W. Williams and Lila W. Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Frances Farmer Walker of the home; daughter, Shona Walker Johnson of Reidsville; granddaughter, Hannah Faith Cody; brothers, Robert Lee “Tag” Walker, Charles Walker both of Stokesdale, Clyde Walker of Archdale, Lewis Walker of Oak Ridge, Carter Walker of Madison and Paul Walker of Greensboro; sister, Dorothy Smith of Archdale; and very special niece, Jan Howerton of Blairs, VA and numerous other nieces and nephews. There will be no formal visitation but the family will be at the residence, at other times. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or Baptist Temple Church, 729 Wentworth Street, Reidsville, NC 27320.
