Norman Ashley Walker

Reidsville – Norman Ashley Walker, 73, of Reidsville, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008 at his home.

A graveside funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, March 17, 2008, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Mr. Walker was born in Caswell County to the late Tom and Carrie Loftis Walker.   He was a veteran serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the Newport News Shipyard.   He was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. He was a committed believer and student of the Bible.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Walker, Naomi Walker, Pricie Walker Lyerly, and Carrie Walker Smith; his brothers, Sam Walker, Woodrow Walker, Miller Walker and Stanford Walker.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Toler Walker of the home; his son, Stephen Ashley Walker and wife, Monica of Raleigh, NC; his daughter, Denise Walker Jones and husband, Allen of Summerfield, NC; granddaughters, Crystal Williams of Thomasville, NC and Stacy Wilson of Summerfield, NC; great granddaughters, Sierra Oates and Shyanne Wilson; sisters, Lennie Durham of Burlington, NC and Theo Poteat of Yanceyville, NC; his brother, Ray Walker and wife, Wanda of Fort Pierce, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
