Reidsville – Ola Smith Perkins Meeks, 86, of Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center passed away on February 8, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Brother Rick Johnson officiating. The interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery.
She was a native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late General Scott Smith and Mrs. Bessie Bolden Smith. She was a homemaker and a longtime, faithful member of Penn Memorial Baptist Church. Ola loved her family and was a talented artist, who also loved gardening. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Perkins; her son, Ralph Lee Perkins and her sister, Pauline Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin Meeks of the home; her sons, Mike Perkins and wife, Karen of Surf City, NC and Robert Perkins and wife, Melissa of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Brittany Jade Perkins, Brandon Perkins, Lindsey Perkins, Casey Perkins and Kim Southard; three great grandchildren; brother, Bill Smith of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Mr. Meeks’ home, 1861 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Reidsville, NC 27320 or Robert Perkins’ home, 250 Clark Lake Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
