Omie Carolyn Thompson

Reidsville: Omie Carolyn Snider Thompson, 94, of Avante of Reidsville, went home to be with The Lord, Monday, April 06, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9, at 11:00 AM at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Craven Williams officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Thompson was born March 11, 1921 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late, William and Nellie Smith Snider. She was formerly employed with Burlington Industries and later retired from Macfield. She was a longtime member of Sharon Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Butler B. Thompson; one brother, W.T. Snider; sisters, Bertha S. Cox, Nealie S. Webster, Lennis S. Dodson, Maggie S. Carter, Betty S. Weber and Anne S. Dove. Left to cherish her memory; her brother, Jerry H. Snider of Monticello; her sisters, Sadie S. Garrison of Reidsville, Patty S. Hopkins of Reidsville and Mary S. Brann of Brown Summit; 10 nieces and 14 nephews. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at Sharon Baptist Church after the service.
