Reidsville – Oreida “Reida” Wilson Drum, 75, of 2009 Carpenter Drive, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday November 4 2012 at the Bethany Community Charter School. Reida was a native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late, Woodrow and Audrey Talley Wilson. She graduated from Wentworth High School and received two undergraduate degrees from UNCG in Performing Arts and Education. Later she returned to UNCG and completed 2 Masters Programs. She was employed with Rockingham County Schools where she taught English, reading and theater. Over the years she taught at Bethany High School, Wentworth High School, Rockingham County High School and later worked at the central office coordinating all of the federal programs. After her retirement, she also served on the Rockingham County School Board for eight years. She was passionate about the arts, music and theater and served as the associate producer of the Miss North Carolina Pageant for 8 years. She was a Charter member of the NorthStar Chapter #380, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert Drum of the home; sister-in-law, Evelyn Allen of Greensboro; special cousin and caregiver, Sally B. Carter; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Rockingham County and would like all memorial contributions to be made to Hospice in Reida’s honor (PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375).
