Paul Baxter Barrow

REIDSVILLE, NC - Paul Baxter Barrow, 54, of Busick Rd, Reidsville, NC, passed away October 7, 2014, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Paul was born June 18, 1960 in Downey, California. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Following his military service, Paul was a Culinary Expert and, before leaving California, he owned a Bistro in Oxnard Shores, Oxnard, California and was an accomplished Chef. He moved to Reidsville, North Carolina in 2004. He was a loving son, brother and uncle, as well as being a devoted friend to all who met and knew him. His sense of humor and love of laughter lightened the lives of everyone around him. Paul loved landscaping and was a gifted farmer and gardener. He loved his dogs like they were his children. Most of his days were spent enjoying his time with his fiancée, Wanda, maintaining their small farm, caring for each other and for their many rescue dogs. Paul was one who was always doing things for others, never expecting anything in return. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Eileen”. He is survived by his mother, Betty Faber of Reidsville, NC, father; Wesley Barrow of Apple Valley, Cal., brothers, Wesley Barrow, Jr. and wife, Suzy of Thousand Oaks, Cal., Mark Barrow and wife, Debby of Frazier Park, Cal., sister, Sally Janowitz and husband, Paul, of Austin, Texas, sister-in-law, but like a sister, Kathy Emond of Ruffin, NC, and his loving Fiancée and “Best Friend”, Wanda Hunter of the home. Paul also leaves behind 3 nephews and 2 nieces as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins who loved him very much. At the family’s request, there will be no formal services at this time, with plans for a celebration of life in the spring of 2015.
