Paul Dixon Carter

Paul Dixon Carter, 93, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Pelican Health Facility in Reidsville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Lattimer officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Military Honors. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Paul's home. Paul was born October 12, 1926 in Rockingham County to the late Albert Sidney Carter and Mary Elizabeth Moore Carter. He served in the US Navy on the USS Dextrous and USS Redstart. He retired from DOT where he drove a motor grader. He loved dancing, fishing, hunting and planting a garden. He loved people and had many friends that loved him. Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters; and grandchild, Melissa Ashley Carter. He is survived by sons: Paul M. Carter and wife, Terri and Harold K. Carter and wife, Traci; grandchildren: Christen Dawn Whitener and Autumn K. Carter; great grandchildren: Christopher Willard, Nicholas Willard, and Callie Hope Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
