Paul Lewis Ellington

Eden: Paul Lewis Ellington, 36, of 1493 Hampton Road, fell in the line of duty on Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2007 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur Holland and Chief Dwain Strader officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Firefighter Honors. Paul was born in Rockingham County and attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He was formerly employed with Unifi and was currently employed with Cellusun Heat and Air. He was a lifetime supporter and a member for 17 years in the Oregon Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He was one of nine father/son combinations in the Fire Department. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth “Peewee” and Annie Lee Ellington; brother, Elwood Ellington and wife, Tammy , all of Eden; nephew, Ethan Ellington; extended family and a multitude of friends. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 3rd from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of Elwood and Tammy Ellington, 1490 Hampton Road, Eden. Memorials may be made to the Oregon Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 858 Mt.
