Peggy Ann Hundley Chavis

Peggy A. Chavis, 70, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Cassady and Mr. Wayne Welch officiating. Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 till 3:00 PM also at the funeral home; other times the family will be at the home. Mrs. Chavis was born in Guilford County to the late Noble English Hundley and Allie Taylor Overby Hundley. Peggy was a loyal wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was so dearly loved by her husband, children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included long rides in the mountains, visits to the beach with her family and visits to her family in Florida. She was a member of True Light Baptist Church and loved her family and church family. Peggy will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Alice Mae Oaks and Betty Jean Caldwell; and a brother, Jimmy Dale Hundley. Survivors include her husband, Millard Chavis of the home; son, Millard Dwayne Chavis and wife, Ann of Climax, NC; daughters: Glenda Ann Keezer Royal and husband, Keith of Archdale, NC, Michele Harrelson Lovelace and husband, Allen of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren: Eric, Dwayne, Adam, Noah, Dalton, Ashton, Shaye, Rachel and Tyler; brothers, Buford and Larry Hundley; and sisters: Geneva Britt, Sue Apple, Shirley Bailey, Linda Sneed and Vicki Atkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. David Simonds and the nursing staff in the ICU Unit for their loving, caring nature and compassion.
