Peggy Davidson Grogan, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was surrounded by family, and had been in residence at Gibson House in Reidsville, N.C. following a brief battle with cancer.
Native to Chesterfield County S.C., Peggy was born on June 5, 1940 to the late J.B. and Evelyn Davidson. After graduating from Ruby High School in 1957, she attended nursing school and then became a Certified Public Accountant. While building her career as a law secretary, Peggy worked for several firms. She enjoyed working for Alexandria’s Burns, Doan, Swecker & Mathis so much that she retired from their offices twice. Peggy loved her husband and family dearly and was blessed to have them always by her side.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bradley Davidson and her son, Jerry Lewis Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Grogan; son, Steve Lewis and wife Kim; daughter-in-law, Michele Lewis; grandchildren, Stephanie (Josh Leatherwood), Stevie (Renee Jamerson), and Kenny Lewis; great-grandson, Leo Lewis; sister, Sadie Whitaker in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Peggy never wished for us to morn, but to gather and celebrate as a family. Due to the current state of the world a celebration of life will be announced at a later time.
