Stokesdale: Peggy Leake, 82, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home in Stokesdale.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2-3 p.m.
Peggy was born on June 24, 1933, in Guilford County to the late James and Lina Williams Myrick. She married G. R. Leake on December 25, 1953. Peggy was a good cook, known for her fried chicken and banana pudding. She worked for American Tobacco Company for over 40 years. For many years, she enjoyed meals at the Reid House with her special friend Elmer Chambers. She really loved her family and her church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. R. Leake, Jr., and her sister, Brenda Barber.
Survivors include her son, Mark Richard Leake, Sr. and wife Kim, and her grandson, Mark Richard Leake, Jr.
