Peggy Collie Owens West

Ruffin: Peggy Collie Owens West, 73, of 2218 Lick Fork Creek Road, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Haywood Wray officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mrs. West was born in Rockingham County to the late John Siddle Collie, Sr. and Nellie Dix Collie. Peggy loved all sorts of outside activities such as softball, basketball and fishing. At the time of her leave at Annie Penn Hospital Peggy was an Assistant Director of Nursing. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith and was a member of Dan River Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving husband, Dan Ervin West of the home; son, Jeffrey Alan Owens and wife, Rita of Eden; daughter, Angela Marie Owens of Reidsville; grandchildren, Deidre Leigh Owens and Seth Landon Owens; brothers, John S. Collie, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Reidsville, David F. Collie and wife, Janice of Blairsville, Ga., Bob R. Collie of Summerfield, NC.; nieces and nephews, Steven Craig Collie, Brian Scott Collie, Carol Leigh Raiger, James David Collie, Christopher Dale Collie, Michael Scott Collie, Richard Matthew Collie, Wallis Vernon Collie. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM and other times at the home.
