Reidsville N.C. - Percy "Buddy" Dewey Adkins, Jr., of 1202 Gunn Street, Apt. 23B passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving children.A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 22, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Burl McMillion officiating.Buddy was born in Danville, Virginia to the late Percy Dewey Adkins, Sr. and Pearl Banes Adkins. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War and was a farmer. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Adkins and son, Jerry Wayne Adkins, Sr.Survivors include his children, Tommy Adkins, Leisa Woods and husband, Ronnie, Judy Taylor, Gayle Hutson and husband, Frank, Danny Ray Adkins, Brenda Robinson and husband, Tim, Andy Adkins, Roxanne Adams and Sara Kay Harris; seventeen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Adkins and sister, Marion Scearce.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, North Carolina 27375Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilkersonfuneral.com
