Peter George Tomaro, of Reidsville NC, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at the age of 64. His departure from this world was marked by the presence of his three loving children and a close family friend. Born on September 18, 1960, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to Domenico and Cristina Tomaro, Peter's early years were marked by a strong work ethic and musical spirit. After graduating from Bound Brook High School in 1978, Peter was a drummer in multiple musical bands in the New Jersey/New York area, one with the name “Blue Mist”. In addition to being a drummer, Peter enjoyed being a DJ for weddings, birthdays and other events. He attended Somerset County College before beginning his entrepreneurial ventures in 1981 by operating a deli “Pete’s Midtown Deli” for 5 years in Bound Brook, NJ. In 1986 he founded a landscaping business “Tomaro’s Landscaping and Lawn Service”, located in Bound Brook, NJ, then moving the business to Reidsville, NC in 2004.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Peter was known for his passion for music; playing the drums served as both an outlet for creativity and a means of personal expression. His love for rhythm mirrored his approach to life of being dynamic and engaging. However, it was perhaps his commitment to social service that defined him most profoundly. As an active member of the True Light Rescue Mission, he dedicated significant portions of his time helping individuals struggling with addiction and homelessness. Peter lived a life deeply rooted in Christian values, embodying faith through his actions. His commitment to spiritual discipline was evident as he navigated life’s challenges and inspired those around him to embrace similar values. His legacy is one characterized by compassion, faith and resilience. Through both personal relationships and community involvement, he exemplified what it means to lead a life guided by purpose. Even after his departure from this world, Peter’s contributions continue to resonate within those whose lives he touched.
Peter is survived by his three children, Peter Tomaro, Margaret (Joshua) Wright, Elizabeth Tomaro, his beloved grandson Coltonn Wright. His brother Douglas (Andrea) Tomaro, Bound Brook, NJ and sister Pamela D’Angio Sugarland TX, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Peter was predeceased by his son Jonathan Tomaro, his father Domenico Tomaro, and his mother Cristina Esposito.
