Phillip Wesley Allen

Reidsville: Phillip Wesley Allen, 55, of 734 Berrymore Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Rudy Woods officiating. The burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 8, at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Phil was a native of Fayette, WV and the son of the late Charles and Betty Mann Allen. He lived most of his life in Rockingham County, attended Oasis Baptist Church and was a faithful family man. He was a great dad, loving brother and friend. He especially loved his grandchildren, Levi and Lilly and took every possible opportunity to be with them. Papa was the only person to cut Levi’s hair. He was an avid Duke fan and enjoyed watching wrestling. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Bruce Allen, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, of 36 years, Emma Burns Allen of the home; his daughter, Stacie Allen Smith and husband, “D.J.” of Danbury, NC; grandchildren, Levi Christian and Lilly Grace Smith; brothers, Charles Ray Allen, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Stokesdale and Timothy Wade Allen and wife, Darlene of Reidsville; sister, Barbara Allen Goins and husband, Tommy of Mayodan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
