Phyllis Ross Dixon

Phyllis Ross Dixon went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2022.

Born on August 10, 1935, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Dick) Ross. She married William B. Dixon on December 2, 1954. She was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School where she was a star basketball player.

Phyllis is survived by her 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was a superb home maker, who loved preparing meals for large family and friend groups. Phyllis played bridge and formed neighborhood groups. She loved most sports, especially bowling, where she registered for three 600 series. She was a strong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also managed a girls softball team. She was a Methodist by faith.

Phyllis loved her family and had a talent for bringing neighborhoods together. She was once dubbed “hostess with the mostest.”

She will lie in eternal rest beside her husband of 68 years. Both will be missed by family and friends. Hopefully, the memory of their lives will be comforting to those who live on.
