Reidsville: Priscilla Lane Grogan Festerman, 73, of 1201 Benton Lane, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Marilyn Weiler and Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Priscilla was born in Rockingham County, NC to the late, Bufford and Evelyn Martin Grogan. She was a graduate of Mayodan High School and a lifelong resident of Rockingham County. The most important thing in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved gardening, landscaping and butterflies. She was a longtime and faithful member of First United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir. She was a faithful friend to many and worked tirelessly for many local charities. She was the managing partner of P&J Rental.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 50 years, Mayor James Festerman of the home, she always supported him in every endeavor. She is also survived by her son, Todd Festerman and wife Crystle of Reidsville; daughter, Michelle Lane Young of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Payne Festerman, Woods, Mayleigh and Betsy Young; sister, Dorothy Middleton and husband, Curtis of Stokesdale, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; special longtime friend Carlene Elliott and many, many other friends.
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the love and support shown to them during this difficult time.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
