Reidsville – Ralph Alfred Langley of 124 Wake Forest Drive, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital aftera lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 27, 2009 in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Ralph was born, December 14, 1953, to the late William and Margaret Miller Langley. He was one of seven children who grew up in Caswell County and attended Williamsburg School. He was employed with Guilford Mills in Greensboro from 1969 to 1998 and was the plant superintendent for the Oak Ridge location until he became unable to work. He also obtained manager degrees through NC State University. He was an avid bowler and won many trophies with the Guilford Mills bowling league and also as the coach of the Guilford Mills softball team. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR and he loved people. He was witty and funny and remained upbeat and busy in spite of his deteriorating health for the past 10 years. He loved his family dearly and dedicated himself to staying strong for them. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Langley; brother, Dean Langley and sister, Penny Langley. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jill Mabry Langley of the home; son, David Michael Langley of Reidsville; sister, Betty L. Wilson and husband, Joe of Reidsville; brothers, William Lee Langley and wife, Beverly, Raymond Roy Langley and wife, Diane, all of Reidsville, Carl Richard "Sam" Langley and girlfriend, Kelly of McLeansville; special mother-in-law, Stella Mabry of Reidsville; numerous nieces, nephews and members of the Mabry family. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Saturday, December 26th from 6:00 -9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
