Reidsville: Mrs. Ramona Harvey Page, 85, of Reidsville, passed away on Monday, July 13th, 2015. Ramona was born on August 4th, 1929 in Rockingham County to the late Emmett G. Harvey and Rama Cockman Harvey. She attended public schools in Rockingham County and graduated from Wentworth High School. Elected Register of Deeds of Rockingham County in 1988, Ramona served until her retirement in January of 1998. She also was deputy and assistant register of deeds during the preceding 29 years. Prior to her work for Rockingham County, she was employed as a clerk at First Federal Savings & Loan and Reidsville Insurance & Realty Company. She was a credit clerk for the Ribbon Division of Burlington Mills and worked in the Data Processing Department of Fieldcrest Mills. Ramona was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Reidsville serving as Adult Department Director, Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the sanctuary choir for many years and a member of the Lillian Talley Bible Study Group. She served as treasurer of the Wentworth Community Group, Inc. since 1969. She was also a member of the Pride & Hope Chapter of the American Business Women, where she served as president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer throughout the years and was selected as their Woman of the Year on two occasions. After her retirement, she pursued her love of art enrolling in classes at RCC and joining painting groups with similar interests. She was a member of The Studio Group of Rockingham County and The Rockingham County Arts Council. She won many awards in the Senior Games of Rockingham County at the local and state levels as well as awards in the Fine Arts Festival of Rockingham County. Along with her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by her sisters, Judith Harvey Bolden and Beatrice Harvey Hooper along with her brother, David L. Harvey. Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Earl Page of the home; Steven D. Page and wife, Jill of Wilson; James G. “Jamie” Page and wife, Laurie of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jeffrey N. Page and wife, Katie; step-grandchildren, Renee Holcomb-Barr, Sara Holcomb and David Dunlap; great-grandchildren, Hannah Page, Andrew Page and Emma Page; step-great-grandchild, Adelia Barr. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 16th, 2015 at two o’clock at Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. Greg Robertson will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from six until eight o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 7860 NC Hwy 87, Reidsville, NC 27320 or the cancer treatment center of the donor’s choosing.
