Rayford Darrell Sharpe

Reidsville – Rayford Darrell Sharpe, 58, of 222 Barley Road, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Carter officiating. The interment will follow in the New Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery with Military graveside rites.Darrell was born in Rockingham County. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from the American Tobacco Company. Darrell was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and cherished his time with family. He was an avid sportsman, especially fishing at the coast. He was preceded in death by his father, Rayford Sharpe.He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith Sharpe of the home; his sons, Rayford Jason Sharpe and wife, Regina and Timothy Wayne Sharpe and wife, Amanda all of Reidsville; his grandchildren, Charity, Rayford Daniel, Faith, Hunter, Jacob, and Hudson Sharpe; his mother, Margaret Durham Sharpe of Reidsville, and his sister, Cheryl Stout and husband, Jimmy of Mcleansville, NC.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and other times at the home.
